The answers to these questions will not be posted (I don't have the time to prepare a key, sorry! J) Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions or are having trouble about any of the topics. 3. I will hold office hours in room I-312 on Tuesday from 10-11am. Contact me if you want to see me but cannot make it to my office hours. 4. I have revised the lecture schedule and changed the exam dates for some of the midterms. Please be sure to make a note of the changes. Based on a majority vote on Thursday, you have requested that there be 4 midterms given in lecture instead of 3. Everyone will have the chance to drop their midterm with the lowest score. You have the option of not taking one of the midterm with the understanding that you will then be giving up the chance to drop a midterm score. Everyone must take the Final Exam during the regularly scheduled time, which is set by the school administration. The Final Exam will be cumulative for the whole semester. The midterms will not be cumulative. Posted 9/17/03: 1. I have posted the Answer Key to Midterm 1 on the "Exam Keys" page. Posted 9/16/03: 1. I have posted the guidelines for writing a lab report on the "Assignments" page, along with information on what plagiarism is and how to avoid it in your writing. Posted 9/10/03: 1. I have posted the answers to the Practice Q's for Midterm 1. 2. I will be holding office hours in I-312 tomorrow (Thurs.) morning from 10-11am. 3. I will be in L-206 from 12:30-1pm tomorrow to answer any questions you may have about any of the material we have covered thus far in the class. Posted 9/7/03: 1. I have posted practice questions for Midterm 1 on the "Practice Q's" page. The answers to these questions will be posted by Wednesday. Posted 9/6/03: 1. I have posted the "Lab Schedule" for your reference. 2. I will post practice questions in preparation for Midterm 1 by the end of the weekend. Posted 9/1/03: 1. I will post course announcements on this page periodically so check back often. New postings will be listed first, sorted by date, and all old postings will remain on the page for your reference. 2. I have posted the answer to the lab manual questions we did not have time to go over in class together. The are posted on the "Lab Ex. Answers" page. I have also posted the answers to the "Temperature" exercise that we skipped in class. Please review it on your own and ask me if you have any questions. In the future, we will spend ~20min every Thurs. going over the answers to the Ex. you did in lab that Tues., so it is to your advantage if you bring your lab manual to lecture on Thursdays (this is an amendment to my earlier announcement that you would not need your lab manuals on Thurs.). 3. The in-class worksheet you completed regarding different molecule types was copied from your "Study Guide" book. You should have purchased it as a set when you bought your textbook from the bookstore. The page we worked on was p. 20 and the answers to that exercise are listed on pp. 299-300. This is a helpful resource for testing your understanding of the lecture material. Work through the exercises regularly and ask me any questions you have in class or by e-mail. 4. I now have a COC e-mail account. You can e-mail me at dilek.sanver-wang@canyons.edu It is preferable that you use this e-mail address in the future rather than my UCI account since this is an account dedicated to my COC correspondence. |
